Dressing & grooming
Selecting clothes, assisting with dressing, hair care, shaving, basic nail care, and other basic grooming tasks.
Mobility & transfers
Helping someone get in and out of bed or chairs, assisting with walking or wheelchair use and positioning for comfort and safety.
Personal hygiene
Bathing, showering, skincare, oral care, toileting, and bowel/bladder care, including incontinence support.
Meal preparation and eating
Planning and preparing meals and assisting with the process of eating when needed.
Medication reminders
Prompting or reminding the person to take their prescribed medications.
Light housekeeping linked to care
Household tasks that are integral to PCA services, such as cleaning areas used for care, laundry related to hygiene, and dishes related to meals.
Shopping & certain errands
Shopping for food, clothing, and essential items, and accompanying the person to appointments or in the community as part of instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).

WHAT IS PCA?
Personal Care Assistance (PCA) is a Minnesota state program that provides in-home support for individuals who need help with activities of daily living (ADLs) and some health-related tasks. At Metro Home Health Care our trained PCA caregivers work one-on-one with you to promote independence while ensuring safety, dignity, and quality of life.

Your services will not be interrupted during the transition. Your case manager will contact you before your annual reassessment to explain your CFSS options, including the possibility of paying a family caregiver.
